You probably wouldn't worry about what people think of you if you could know how seldom they do.

Hello and welcome to my Wood Blog.  My name is Jim Sharman and I started woodworking about 4 years ago.  Most of the things I have built so far have been small items and a few jigs.  Most of my woodworking has concentrated on reading magazines and books and trying different things to learn as much as I can.  I took a few classes early on that concentrated mostly on shop safety and getting familiar with the different tools.  I like watching woodworking shows and my favorite show is WoodWorks with David Marks.  My ultimate goal is to be able to make fine furniture.  I have some of the tools I need.  There are other tools that I still need and of course there are even more tools that I would just like to have.

What is a WoodBlog?  A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web.  The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger".  WoodBlog is a combination of my favorite hobby, woodworking, and a blog.  Whenever I have the chance to do some woodworking I take some pictures of what I am working on, post them on my blog, and leave a small description of what I am doing.  Below each entry is a hyperlink that allows other woodworkers to leave a comment on that entry.  Other woodworkers and myself can then leave their own comment or respond to the other comments.  Hopefully through this process I can learn from other woodworkers and they in turn can learn from me.   Thanks for stopping by.
